Failing to become pregnant again because of being overweight was what propelled Paulene to get rid of her excess kilos. With Weight Watchers, the support of the people around her, and sheer determination, Paulene did get what she wanted most! Her weight loss journey will continue after her pregnancy.

-What finally made you decide to start with a weight loss program?
Having to give up with fertility treatments after trying unsuccessfully for our second child. Our first took five years of treatments but my excess weight (due to PCOS) was hindering our efforts this time and I decided it would be cheaper financially, emotionally and physically to focus on my weight for a while first then go back to treatments.

P.S. After losing almost 28 kg., I fell pregnant naturally and am now about 18 weeks along!

-What type of weight loss program are you following?
Weight Watchers points system (until I became pregnant)

-Why did you choose this weight loss program?
I know it works, and it's affordable. I cook my own food that's also suitable for the whole family and it teaches me better eating and exercise habits along the way.

-How long have you been on your weight loss program?
This time for 20 months before pregnancy but have had many, many attempts in the past.

-What kinds of physical activities do you like doing to help you lose weight and stay fit?
Gym, walking, weight training, aquarobics, bike riding and spin classes

-What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome or are still overcoming?
The hardest part was sticking with it until I had lost enough for it to be visible to others. I am currently struggling to overcome my anxieties regarding gaining weight in pregnancy.

-How do you keep yourself motivated?
Lots of small goals, focusing on 5 kg at a time and keeping lots of weight loss charts, measurement loss progress and exercise calendars. My greatest motivation is by far the support I receive from my online weight loss website.

-Do you have any weight loss tips for our readers?
Write down everything you eat and drink...and I mean EVERYTHING. Find time for 30-60 minutes a day for exercise and NEVER GIVE UP!

-Do you think it will be easy to fall back into your old lifestyle pattern? How do you prevent this from happening?
Selling fat clothes as you grow out of them, changing eating/exercise habits slowing and consistently as you go along and enlisting the support of those around you. Also buy lots of sexy clothes you've always dreamed of and start to enjoy shopping...you'll never want to go back to the old you!

-Do you have a favourite Web site or blog that helps or inspires you to lose weight?
My site is Paulene's Journal Journey.
